You'll also find several museums including the Tale 'N' Trails Museum, Horton Classic Cars Museum, and the Nokona Baseball Glove Museum.

Nocona is the home of the Old Nocona Boot Company. This is in the old "historic and original" Nocona Boot Factory, in Nocona, where they made handmade boots. Also in that building is the Nokona Glove Company. They operate the Nokona Baseball Glove Museum and still make gloves to this day. You can buy retail or have a handmade custom ball glove made just for you! You’ll also find a couple other museums in town, including the Tale 'N' Trails Museum and Horton Classic Cars Museum.

Lake Nocona provides an ideal environment for many types of fish. Angling opportunities are excellent for largemouth bass, catfish and crappie. Blue Mound Fitness and Walking Trails are located on the historic site of Blue Mound. Explore the trails and fitness equipment while enjoying one of North Montague County's highest vantage points. With an elevation of more than 1,000 feet it was a look-out point for Comanche Indians and later for Cowboys pushing Longhorns on trail drives. The Miss Enid Justin Park, supported by the Nocona Lions, features a variety of children's outdoor play equipment, a skateboard ramp, two large pavilions complete with barbecue grills and picnic tables, two tennis courts and a volleyball court. This park also has a new community-built playground, "Peta's Playground," that includes equipment for special needs children. The Mary Beckman Davis Park is the cornerstone of the historical downtown area. This tree-lined park has benches and a covered pavilion/stage. It is center stage for fun events throughout the year. The Indian Oaks Golf Course offers a beautiful and challenging experience for the golfer. Nature loverws are sure to enjoy a visit to the new state-of-the-art Colorchids greenhous. The 63,000-square foot greenhouse is part of an expansion by Colorchids which was created 10 years ago by Ben Van Wingerden.

Gainesville, "The Star of North Texas," is a city in the county seat of Cooke County, Texas. Founded in 1850, the residents called their new community "Liberty," but a Liberty, Texas, already existed. It was Colonel William Fitzhugh, who suggested that the town be named after General Edmund Pendleton Gaines.

The centerpiece of the city is Leonard Park and the Frank Buck Zoo. The community park is the most-used of all parks in the city and the zoo attracts thousands of visitors from throughout the region. Leonard Park serves the entire population of Gainesville, as well as North Central Texas and Southern Oklahoma. The park can be broken into four different areas: the common area of the park itself, the zoo, the ball fields, and the swimming pool.

Frank Buck Zoo
The Frank Buck Zoo is a small zoo founded in 1930 and located in the 30 acres Leonard Park in Gainesville. The zoo started as the Gainesville Community Circus in 1930. It is home to more than 130 animals. You can get fairly close to the animals, which is fun for the family. The handicap and stroller accessible path around the zoo is about a mile long, with an elevated walkway over the kangaroos, giraffes and zebras. Other animals at Frank Buck Zoo include African porcupine, alpaca, Benett's wallaby, black bear, camel, capybara, coyote, domestic goats, mini zebu, Ostrich, python, red fox and tortoise. Also in the park there are picnic tables, a playground and large pavilion that is available to rent every weekend. A train route encompasses the entire park and allows visitors a great tour. Also featured in Leonard Park is The Leonard Park Aquatic Center. This 2,000,000 gallon facility has an 18 foot high water slide, drop slide, diving board, zero entry with play structure, 8 foot rock climbing wall, human hamster balls, a shaded Cabana with picnic tables and sun bathing deck with loungers.
